TRIBAL POLICE ARREST TWO INDIVIDUALS IN DRUG WARRANT SEARCH

KICKAPOO TRIBE IN KANSAS – 09/02/2024 – TRIBAL POLICE ARREST TWO INDIVIDUALS IN DRUG WARRANT SEARCH


            On 09/02/2024 at approximately 9:31pm officers from the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas Police Department, Horton Police Department, and Prairie Band Potawatomie Police Department executed a search warrant on the 600 block of 130th Road on the Kickapoo Reservation. As a result, the officers made two arrests and seized various amounts of controlled substances as well as paraphernalia.

            Upon the officers’ arrival and approach to the house on the property, individuals inside the house made themselves known and were detained without incident. In gathering information regarding the individuals inside the residence, Lonnie Shopteese and Neko Romesburg were found to have outstanding warrants from outside jurisdictions.

            In searching the property, officers seized various amounts of controlled substances which were consistent with methamphetamine and marijuana. Paraphernalia was also discovered and seized as a result of the search.

            After the search was concluded, Romesburg was transported to the Jackson County Jail for the outstanding warrants and Shopteese was transported to the Brown County Jail for his outstanding warrants. Shopteese and Brady Meisenheimer, who was also present when the warrant was executed, were charged with possession of stimulants, possession of marijuana, and paraphernalia.

            No injuries were reported as a result of this incident and no further comment will be given at this time.
